The Talk.
My breath knocked out of me, as I stared at Ian. I knew he meant me. Was he really that serious about me? And he knee as well as I did that maybe I wouldn't be his.
Parker and Marley was just as stunned, as Ian continued eating like he didn't just drop a major bombshell on us.
"Who is this girl?" Parker finally asked.
Ian's eyes flickered to mine. I was afraid he'd say something about us. But at the same I wanted Parker to know. I knew I couldn't hide this from him forever. After all, if there were chances that I would end up with Ian, Parker would have to know the truth.
"My high school sweetheart," Ian said.
"I know," Parker rolled his eyes. "Who is she? Does she have a name?"
"That's not--"
"Yeah," I interrupted Ian, making him snap his head and look at me in pure disbelief. "It's me."
Parker rolled his eyes. "Ha ha. Now tell me who it really is."
I raised my eyebrows at him. "It's me, Parker. Remember when I came here, I told you that I was in love with someone, and I had no idea why I came here? That was Ian."
Silence. Parker was stunned. And so were Ian and Marley. But for a different reason. I knew both of them were stunned that I did what I did.
"It was because of him that you--" Parker started to ask, but I cut him off.
"No. It was because of myself."
"What are you talking about?" Ian asked, a frown on his face.
Before Parker could say anything, I shook my head. "Nothing important."
"O-Kay," Ian slowly drawled out.
I glared at Parker, just as Marley suddenly exclaimed.
"You just kind of proposed to her!"
I spat out the wine which I had just drunk, all over Parker. He glared at me, as Marley and Ian burst out laughing.
"Seriously, Khlo?"
"I'm sorry," I smiled sheepishly.
"So, when are you getting married?" Marley smirked.
"Shut up," I glared at her. "We aren't getting married."
Ian was silent throughout this, and my eyes went to him. His face was thoughtful and I could see the hurt in his eyes when I said that.
"Harsh much?" Parker narrowed his eyes at me, noticing Ian as well.
"I'm done," I muttered, getting up and walking away. I thought it would be okay if I told Parker but all that happened was us fighting.
I knew that Ian was following me, and I owed him an apology. I shouldn't have burst out like that. Especially say that I wouldn't marry him like that.
"Khlo," Ian called out as I sat down on my bed, head in my hands.
I peeked up at him. "I'm so sorry, Ian. I shouldn't have said that."
"It's okay, Khloe. I wouldn't say I'm surprised."
"Ian--"
He cut me off. "It's okay, trust me. I just wanted to tell you that I called Silver and Caleb here."
My eyes widened. "What?!"
Ian sat down next to me. "I know you think that Silver has some romantic interest in me, but she is just protective."
"She told me you were hers," I couldn't help but point out.
"That's because she thought you would hurt me. I know everything she told you."
"You do?" I was shocked.
"Of course." Then a dark look crossed his face. "And I know about the comment about whips and chains."
A dark blush covered my face. "Uh.. Um..."
"If we were going out, how I'd punish you for that," Ian growled.
I swallowed, as my body instantly reacted to his words. Goosebumps covered my skin, my pûssy clenching in anticipation.
"I'm going to go check on those two," Ian muttered, his eyes regarding me carefully. It wad then I realized that he knew. He knew the effect those words had on me, and he still chose to walk away. I was sure that I would do whatever Ian wanted me to do right now, and so was he. But he still didn't take advantage, and I loved him for that.
As I was collecting my thoughts, and also thinking through what would happen when Silver would get here, the doorbell rang.
Before I could open it, Ian beat me to it. "Silver," he greeted, hugging her."Hey, little man," he said to Caleb.
"Hey," I smiled at both of them as they walked in.
Silver gave me a small smile. "Hi."
Caleb looked at me in confusion. "Who's this?"
I bent down to his level. "Hey, I'm Khloe. Your - Ian's friend."
I couldn't get the word Dad out. I was surprised when Caleb threw his hands around my neck. I looked at Ian, who just grinned at me.
"Okay buddy," Ian said, "We'll go watch a movie, while the ladies talk."
I looked in alarm at Ian. He wad leaving me alone with Silver? Was something wrong with him? He just gave me a reassuring smile before walking into the TV room.
"Sit down, please," I muttered to Silver.
We say in silence for some time, before Silver finally spoke. "I'm sorry."
I looked at her in surprise. "What?"
"I judged you too fast. When Ian told me that you lived here, I was afraid you would break his heart again."
"Don't you think Ian can fight on his own?"
Silver sighed. "He can. And he does. So often. But I saw him, Khloe. When he came to Florida, he really was broken. And I didn't want it to happen to him again. It has happened to me, and I don't know what I would do without Ian."
"What about Caleb?" I asked, curiosity getting better of me.
"He knows."
"But--?"
Silver smiled at me. "I told him, and Ian doesn't know that he knows. Caleb plays along, till I'm ready to tell Ian."
"That's --"
"Not what you expected?"
"I didn't," I whispered, just as the doorbell rang.
"Excuse me," I murmured, opening the door to Sean.
"Hey," he grinned at me, then his face fell as he noticed my expression. "What's wrong?"
I shook my head. "Oh. Nothing. Come on in."
As he walked in, his eyes went to my guest, and widened. Silver stood up so fast, it was unreal.
And they both whispered at the same time.
"Sean."
"Silver."
