I placed the last bobby pin in my hair and smiled at myself upon seeing my reflection. I looked nice, for a change - more presentable. With a stunning purple dress that I only wore on special occasions that helped my blue eyes sparkle, along with my silver heels that I bought during a sale, I looked...pretty.

I touched my blonde hair to make sure no strand was sticking out. Once I was satisfied, I smiled to myself, I was ready to go on this date.

I checked my phone to see whether he had sent me a message only to be disappointed when I found no notification. I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not, and the fact that I was nervous beyond the normal level didn't help my case. I didn't want to sweat but it was proving to be difficult as I kept looking in the mirror to check if I looked perfect.

The only reason I was a nervous wreck for this date was because it was my first ever blind date. I met the guy on an online dating website, and we had been in constant contact for the past two months. The only problem with that was that I didn't even know the guys actual name; the only thing I knew about was his username, Dark_Phoenix. I wish I knew more but I knew that tonight I will. The only other thing I knew about this guy was that he owned a multinational company, and made millions of dollars a month.

A part of me was trying to persuade me to stay, as he was a man I never met before, for all I know he could be a murderer or a human trafficker. But the rebellious and adventurous part of me wanted to throw caution to the wind and see who exactly was this man.

Glancing at the clock had my heart jumping to my throat. It was 8:30 pm, which meant if I didn't leave for my date now I would be late, and that was something I wanted to avoid doing.

I left my apartment in a hurry, making sure to lock the front door. I hailed a cab and directed him to the restaurant where my date awaited. The restaurant had a fancy name, which meant that it was high class, I just hoped my dress made me look high class, instead of a pauper.

The ride to the restaurant was tensed. My heart was struggling to be let out of the ribcage. My palms were clammy, and my stomach felt as if I had rocks for lunch. I wanted to go back and forget about this date, but I also wanted to meet this mystery man. I just wished that he didn't stand me up.

After 20 minutes, the driver stopped in front of the restaurant. I paid and hesitantly got out, making sure not to trip over my heels.

I took a deep breath, and gave myself a pep talk about being confident and enjoying life. Then made my over to the door which was manned by the maitre'd. The maitre'd smiled and opened the door for me. I thanked the man and slowly walked inside.

The inside of the restaurant was nothing like I've had ever seen. The floor was carpeted, silencing any sound made by shoes. The tables were looked to be made of expensive wood. Crystal chandeliers were hanging evenly spaced. The whole restaurant screamed high class.

A waitress came over dressed in a fitted white blouse and black skirt. Her blonde hair were tied up in a neat bun, making her look professional.

"Good evening, how can I help you?" The waitress asked politely.

"Uh, I came here for my date." I told her meekly.

"Oh, do you have reservations?"

"Uh, maybe under the name of Mr. Phoenix." I told her, not sure if it was the correct name or not.

The waitress went behind the desk and checked her computer. After a couple of seconds she nodded.

"Yes, Mr. Phoenix is here, please let me show you to your table." She begun leading me to my designated table.

The waitress stopped in front of the table situated in the farthest corner of the restaurant. I looked at the table and saw a man in his early twenties sitting there as if he owned the place.

"Mr. Phoenix, your date is here." The waitress told the man.

"Thank you, Trisha, you may leave now." He replied, and his deep voice washed tingles over me.

The waitress, Trisha, walked away leaving me to get my first real glimpse of the man. And can I just say, holy hotness!

He was not the most gorgeous man on the planet, but his demeanor and the aura he exuded made him gorgeous. He had the darkest eyes I've had ever seen, like two black gems, framed by thick lashes. His nose wasn't straight, but wasn't too crooked either, giving him a rugged look. He had high cheekbones, and full lips, and just his face was enough to make my heart beat wildly.

"Sit down, Ariana." He gestured to the lone empty seat across from him.

I nodded and sat down, secretly pleased that he seemed like a good man, and was good looking, too.

"So, we finally meet." He stated with a hint of arrogance.

"Yes, we do." I replied.
