Cupcake.
I didn't know whether to slip out of bed the next morning, and make my way home or stay till Sean woke up. I couldn't help but smile at how cute he looked. A smile made way on my face as I remembered his words. He wanted to take me out!
I got out of bed, and found one of his shirts in the closet. I slipped it on, putting on my panties along with it. I made some breakfast, and as I poured juice into the glass, I heard Sean's voice.
"Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, and as I turned, I was surprised to him standing right behind me.
A shy smile filled my face. "Morning."
"I thought you left," Sean accused. "And then I smelt the yummy food."
I bit my lip, looking at him from under my lashes. "I thought I'd make you some breakfast."
"Well, thank you." Sean smiled. "Want to take a shower with me?"
A blush spread across my face. "Uh..."
"I was joking," Sean chuckled, giving me a kiss on the forehead. "If breakfast is done, can we start?"
I nodded. "Breakfast is served!"
Sean laughed. Breakfast was a quiet affair. But surprisingly, there was no need for words to be spoken between us. I was content with just eating quietly. I realized that Sean looked at me sometimes, staring for more time than necessary.
"Stop staring," I finally mumbled.
"I can't help it," Sean said and as cheesy as it sounded, that really made me smile. "You are gorgeous."
I gave him a smile. "You, sir, are blind."
"You, madam, are wrong," Sean grinned. "I was going to ask you something."
I raised my eyebrows. "Yes?"
"Will you go for a date with me?"
I wasn't going to lie, I was surprised. "Are you for real?"
"All of me, baby," Sean grinned.
I laughed. "You fool."
"So, will you do me the honour of going out on a date with me?"
"I would love to."
"Do you want me to drop you home?"
I nodded, smiling sheepishly. "I would love that. I kinda have to get dressed."
"You look good in what you're wearing," Sean chuckled.
I rolled my eyes. "Of course. Give me five minutes."
"I'll take a shower until then," Sean said, and I watched as he walked into the bathroom. He was freaking hot. And he wanted to go out on a date with me. A highly girlish squeal threatened to get past my lips, and I quickly dismissed even doing such a thing. I quickly put on my dress, and tied my hair up in a bun. I took my phone, only to see I had about a hundred missed calls and messages. All from Ian.
I groaned silently. I wouldn't lie, and say I wasn't affected by what Ian did. I was. But I knew I had to hear his side of the story. I opened his last message.
**I'll tell you everything, Khlo. No lies. I promise. Please call me back.**
I walked into Sean's living room, and called Ian. He picked up on the first ring. It was as if he was waiting for me to call.
"Khloe! Where are you? I was getting so worried!" Ian sounded frantic.
"Hey," I said quietly. "I'm with Sean. I'm fine."
I expected Ian to blow a casket when I told him who I wad with. "Are you coming back home?"
"In some time. I'm going for a date with Sean."
Ian's voice sounded strangled. "Date? That's amazing."
I didn't know what to say. "I'll talk to you when I'm back home later."
"Alright. I'll be waiting for you."
"And no lies this time, right?"
"No lies. I promise." Ian said. Then he paused. "Have fun on your date, Khlo."
"Thanks," I muttered, just as Sean walked into the room. He looked at me questioningly. "Bye. I'll see you later."
"I'm waiting right here," Ian said softly. I felt my heart break over how sad he sounded. But I didn't have it in me to forgive him. I couldn't.
"Planning another date?" Sean asked, a smile on his face.
I rolled my eyes. "Why, yes. I'm unstoppable."
Sean walked up to me, pulling me into his arms. "Well, I hope I make you want to stay with me then."
I gave him a smile. "Me too."
I didn't have time to think as Sean's lips met mine. His lips were soft against mine. My hands instantly went to pull him closer, and I was vaguely aware of my phone falling down.
Sean pulled back, his eyes meeting mine. "Let's go, cupcake."
"Cupcake?" I laughed.
"You taste like it," Sean smirked.
I didn't say anything, pulling his hand in mine. Until I noticed the phone on the floor. I picked it up, saying a silent prayer that it wasn't broken.
"Where to?" Sean asked, once we were settled in his car.
I told him my address, and Sean just nodded. The rest of the way home, Sean kept asking me questions like my favourite colour, my favourite movies and other stuff like that. It felt really nice to talk to him like that.
"Do you want to come inside?" I asked, as Sean parked outside my building.
"If you don't mind."
I smiled. "I wouldn't ask you if I minded."
Sean nodded, "Okay then."
I wasn't expecting Ian to be at my place. I looked at him in surprise. His eyes widened when he saw me, and he smiled sheepishly. His face fell when Sean walked in. I didn't even have to say anything, as awkwardness filled the air.
"I didn't expect you to have company," Sean murmured behind me.
I didn't bother saying anything. I didn't expect to have company. "What are you doing here?" I asked Ian softly, not wanting to be rude.
"I told you I would wait. And Marley and Parker threw me out." He looked away, embarrassed.
"They threw you out?" I was stunned.
Ian made a disgusted face. "You should have heard them. They were going at like bunnies throughout the damn night. And when I suggested they move the party to Marley's, they chucked me out. Throwing your apartment keys at me."
I burst out laughing. "Wow. I have to see them."
Before I could, Ian stopped me. "I would strongly suggest you don't. I just heard some banging and frankly, I'm sure you don't want to see two of your best friends screwing each other."
Sean coughed and I nodded. "I don't. I'm going to go change. You guys make yourself comfortable."
I almost ran into my bedroom. I knew leaving both of them in one room was a recipe for disaster. But I was beyond caring. I wanted Sean in my life. He was amazing.
And I knew that Ian would be there. I quickly showered, and dressed up in jeans and a shirt, putting on a sweater.
I walked into the living room, to Sean and Ian laughing their asses off. I took a double look. What the hell had happened here?
"Um... Am I interrupting anything?" I couldn't help but blurt.
Both their heads snapped towards me. "Oh, we were just talking about university." Sean answered.
"University?"
"We were in the same university. Had some classes together too," Ian said. "We just realized."
I gave them a tight grin. "Ah, that's nice."
"You ready cupcake?" Sean asked.
I saw Ian's grin slip off at the nickname. "Yeah."
"Alright then, let's go." Sean said. "See you later man," he spoke to Ian as they did the weird man hug.
"Bye Ian," I muttered as we left.
"Is there anything between you two?" Sean asked, as he drove somewhere.
"Huh?"
"You and Ian?" Sean pressed.
Fuck. "We have some history." I muttered. I didn't want to lie to him.
"He's okay with this?".
"It's not his choice to make," I replied. "And he has moved on. I think I should do the same."
"Oh, I'm not worried now."
I looked at him with surprise. "You were worried?"
Sean gave me a sidelong glance, shrugging. "Anyone can see the tension between you both. I really hoped that you guys didn't have anything going on."
"Don't worry, we don't," I murmured, but my mind questioned me. My feelings for Ian were still running high. And I knew it would take a lot for me to get over him. But I wanted to try with Sean.
"Where are we going ?" I asked for the hundredth time.
"Stop asking me. I'm not telling you."
"But Sean!" I protested. "You said twenty minutes, it's been an hour!"
"Khloe!" Sean imitated me. "Stop asking me."
"I'm never going on another date with you," I muttered, folding my arms across my chest.
"I'm sure. We're here," Sean said.
I looked in front of us. "An amusement park?"
Sean looked at me. "Don't tell me you're too old for them."
I grinned. "Let's go!"
Sean bought the tickets and as we walked in, I took in the scene in front of me. I always loved amusement parks. Even as a kid, my parents took me to one atleast once a month. This date was so simple, but so meaningful. I leaned up and gave Sean a kiss on his cheek.
"What was that for?" Sean asked, amused.
"For bringing me here. I love it," I shrugged. "Can we on the rollercoaster?"
Sean raised his eyebrows. "You're okay for that?"
I nodded, taking his hand and dragging him that way. We got in line, and as we sat down, I saw Sean look around worriedly.
"Don't tell me you're afraid," I teased him.
Sean rolled his eyes. "I'm not."
"Sure-aaahhh!" A scream escaped my lips are we went down. I heard Sean laugh. We went on the rollercoaster one more time.
"What next?"
Sean shrugged. "There's a haunted house."
I shook my head, moving away from him. "No ways. Not happening."
"C'mon, Khloe," Sean said. "I'll protect you."
"I'd rather not," I said, almost running away. I would have got away, if Sean hadn't caught me just in time. He almost dragged me to the line.
"Look!" I pointed out to the board where it said 'CAUTION'. "They say people with heart problems shouldn't enter. I cannot enter!"
Sean gave me an amused smirk. "You have heart problems?"
"No! But I'll definitely get a heart attack if you take me there!"
"There's nothing wrong in an experience," Sean said.
I shook my head. "I am not going inside that- that death trap!"
"It's hardly a death trap. There are normal people like you and me there," Sean said. By this time we were in front of the line. Before I could get one word in, Sean pulled me inside.
"I will haunt you forever if I die," I muttered, much to Sean's amusement. The 'house' was dark, a few lights lighting it up. Cobwebs hung everywhere, and just as we were about to take a turn, a guy jumped in front of us.
"Ahhhhh!" I screamed, almost jumping on Sean. Closing my eyes, I stayed on him, until he whispered that we were out of there.
"I hate you," I mumbled as we walked out of that house.
"Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it," Sean teased.
"I didn't." I pouted
I wad acting like a child, but I didn't care. Haunted houses and me were mortal enemies. I didn't even understand why such fatal things existed in amusement parks. Anyone would die in there, heart problems or not.
"I'm sorry," Sean said, giving me a puppy dog look.
I shook my head. "No. You aren't."
"Khloe, I am," Sean insisted.
I looked away from his handsome face. "Fine. Where to next?"
"You want to grab a bite to eat? It's almost five."
I nodded. "Pizza?"
Sean grinned. "Let's go cupcake."
"Your face is a cupcake," I grumbled.
"Maybe that's why you want to eat it," Sean retorted, making me go red in embarrassment.
"I cannot believe you just said that!"
"Well, you asked for it, cupcake," Sean smirked.
"Shut up," I muttered .
But a smile made way across my face as Sean took my hand in his. This day was just turning out to be one of the best dates I've had so far.
