Chapter 20
Camilla Cortes' Point of View:
Someone was placing open mouthed kisses on my neck. I opened my eyes slowly and looked at Luke who was now staring at me. I couldn't believe that this man who looked as if he were sculpted by the Greek Gods themselves, was in love with me.
"Good morning," he grinned at me showing his pearly white teeth.
"Morning," I smiled "I like waking up next to you"
"I like having you next to me all the time," he pecked my lips. I swore my heart fluttered around in my chest.
He suddenly looked shy as he looked down at my hands that were now entwined with his.
"Hey, what is it?" I asked him.
"Will you move in with me?" he blurted out.
"You want me to move in with you?" I asked him just to make sure I heard him right.
"Yeah," he ran a hand through his hair "you don't have to say yes"
"Of course, I'll move in with you," I was delighted that he even asked me.
He smiled brighter than I've ever seen and kissed me on the lips. He trailed kisses down my bod and stopped directly in front of my belly. He ran his hand over my tummy before placing a gentle kiss on it. His smile was infectious as he looked up at me and I couldn't help but think that he would make a great father.
My stomach growled and a blush crept up on my face when Luke laughed, "go freshen up while I make you breakfast"
"Okay," he walked out of the room and I got up and grabbed my essentials from my bag.
I quickly undressed and hopped into the shower. After showering I dried off and got dressed. I grabbed my toothbrush and brush my teeth. Looking in the mirror my hair was an absolute mess it’s a wonder that Luke didn't say anything about it. I grabbed a hair tie and gathered all my hair to the top of my head I secured it with the scrunchie and made a slightly messy bun. I went downstairs to look for Luke.
I walked into the dining room and there he was setting down the plates with food. He smiled at me and walked back into the kitchen. I sat down in one of the chairs my mouth practically salivating at the sight of the food.
"Do you need any help?" I called out to him as I stared at the food.
"I'm good," he said as he walked into the room with a pot of coffee.
"Crap," I mumbled as I jumped up from my seat clasping a hand to my mouth and hoping desperately that I wouldn't throw up.
"Get that away from me," I begged him as I covered my mouth once again.
He looked down at the coffee in his hands confused but did what I asked, nonetheless. A few seconds later he walked back into the room empty handed. I let out a sigh of relief which he pick up on.
"Want to tell me what that was about?" he wrapped a hand around my waist.
"I'm sorry I should've known you'd make coffee," I sighed "the smell of coffee makes me sick to my stomach"
"Oh," he said with a look of understanding as he rubbed my belly "he doesn't like it"
I laughed at how he just assumed that it was a boy, "yeah so no coffee for me, I shouldn't be drinking it anyway" I pouted.
"I can make you something else," he offered sweetly.
"Can you make me some hot chocolate?" I requested.
He laughed making me frown, "what's so funny?"
"My mom has an addiction to hot chocolate," he chuckled.
"That's awesome," I was giddy with excitement "I can't wait to meet her"
"You will tonight," he smirked and strolled towards the kitchen.
"What!"
______________
I still can't believe I'm meeting your parents I told Luke as he pulled up to their driveway. There was another car there that I assumed to be Nathan's. I was extremely nervous about meeting his parents until he told me that Nathan and Alex would be there as well. I wouldn't survive if I was the centre of attention luckily Alex was here.
"Who else will be here?" I asked as we walked up to the front door.
"Just who I told you I think," he grasped my hand and intertwines our fingers.
He knocked on the door and waited until it was opened, and Nate stood opposite us.
"Hey Luke," they did a manly hug and he hugged me as well "Camilla, come on in everyone's in the backyard"
We followed Nate outside where I saw Alex and two unfamiliar faces. I'm assuming they were Luke's parents.
"Camilla," the woman jumped out of her seat to run over to me stopping me mid step and pulling me into a hug "it's so good to finally meet you"
"It’s lovely to meet you as well Mrs. Williams"
"That won't do dear as I've told your friend call me Nat"
"Okay Nat"
"This is my husband, Chase" she gestured to her husband who promptly walked over to us.
"It’s great to meet you"
"Likewise,"
"Come," Nat beckoned to me and Alex "let's chat while the men do whatever"
Luke rolled his eyes gave me a quick kiss and sent me off with his mother. Alex, Nat, and I spent around thirty minutes just chatting. Nat was a truly kind woman, and I was glad that she welcomed Alex and I with open arms. The cook alerted us that the food was ready, and the men were already headed towards the dining room. We got up and went to the dining room as well. Chase blessed the food and told everyone to dig in. The food was divine. I had always loved to eat but now that I was pregnant, I was hungry a lot more often and I could eat a lot more too. As long as I wasn't near coffee, I was fine for the most part.
The chatter continued as we ate. We all paused when there was a knock on the door.
"I'll get it," Nate said as he rose to his feet.
"Look who it is," he said as he moved to the side to reveal Andre. I wonder what he was doing here. I don't remember him saying he would be there.
"I didn't know you would be here," Luke said through gritted teeth, well I guess he still hasn't forgiven him.
"Well, my dear friend I just came across some interesting information that I just had to share with you your parents since you won't see reason"
"What's going on here?" Nat asked as she watched on with interest.
Andre's smile was sinister when he glanced at me, "I see you've met Camilla"
"Yes, she's quite lovely," my face turned red at the compliment.
"Has she told you anything about her family?" he smirked.
Nat's smile turned to a look of confusion, "I don't think she has"
"Is there a point to all this?" Alex groaned loudly.
I sent a grateful look her way. She knew how much I hated talking about my own family. It brought me nothing but pain.
"The point is that her mother was a peculiar woman," he looked extremely comfortable making me uncomfortable "but the most peculiar thing was her name"
I don't know what he was hinting at, but he had the attention of everyone in the room. Luke had a reassuring hand on my thigh as he kept a blank expression on his face. Alex looked concerned for me while Chase and Nathan just kept eating. Luke told me that his mom loved a good mystery and suspense which is probably why she was so intrigued. I on the other hand couldn't be bothered.
I was desperately craving chocolate.
"What was her name?" Nat asked getting rather impatient.
Andre looked at me and he was rather smug about it, "her name was Amber Cortes"
