LUCIEN'S POV.
I drove past the busy streets, making my way steadily, and overtaking the other cars who were too slow for me. Traffic slowed me down a few times, and in those few times, I couldn't help thinking about Adria.
Thinking about her made me feel sour, and on the verge of anger. How could she be so unwilling to listen and give me a chance? She had called me a monster and had that moment it had felt like something had clenched its hand around my chest. I hadn't intended for her to find out in such a way, and I understood that as a human, she had every right to be scared and doubtful but I believed I had done my best to convince her that I wasn't going to harm her.
